Robert Plant Asheville Concert reviews
plant & band of joy such pleasure
Opening up with Black Dog was a surprise and the Band of Joy version kicked ass. Such a great and diverse playlist, 6 reworked Zep songs,"Black Dog, Black Country Woman, All of my Love, Houses of the Holy, and Ramble On"-which seemed to be the biggest crowdpleaser-, and Gallows Pole in the encore set all sounded amazing. Plant solo material was- "Down to the Sea" from Fate of Nations and-" In the Mood" from Principle of Moments were really great to hear."Please read the letter" from Walking into Clarksdale and five from the Band of Joy made it a very good set. Also nice to see the 3 solo performances from the individual band members and watch plant sing backup vocals and play the harmonica. A very sentimental "All of my Love" was a highlight for me,and knowing he wrote that for his young son who had passed away. Ending it with an all vocal"good nite" with all of the band singing was incredible and really left me at peace.I have seen Plant perform solo since 1982 and he never disappoints-what an incredible talent and we are all very lucky to see a legend perform what he loves to do at this point in his career, always doing what he loves and never selling out.
